UITM is considered one of the leaders in Poland in the area of innovative education. One of the largest private universities in Poland, UITM cooperates with various institutions of higher education, research institutes, business associations, enterprises and experts. It has been the recipient of 161 grants to date, of these 113 from European Union Funds. Each year it is the host of several international level conferences and seminars and has a staff of 473 employees including 64 professors.
Founded in 1996, the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) is a dynamic and young university. Today, USI comprises four Faculties, with a student population of around 3,000, 60% of which made up of international students from more than 100 different countries. Its taught courses (in Italian and English) cover the whole gamut from Bachelor's to PhD degree programmes.
The research concerns of the Educational Research and Evaluation (ERE) Group of IACM is in the area of educational innovation. The focus is in research for modelling purposes and the understanding of the emerging pedagogical/training trends in Europe. The underlying concern is the identification of pedagogical methods which with the support of technological tools can foster effectiveness in learning and consequently improvement of work conditions. This is achieved through the design and implementation of awareness development activities with the actors of the educational community, the carrying out of applied research and the conduct of educational programme evaluations. Areas of previous experience of the ERE Group include: Technology assessment, Design, implementation and evaluation of teachers training schemes, Formulation of policy recommendation on ICT usage in learning environments, Large scale quantitative and qualitative research of socio-cultural nature.
